How to get to the Skanzen

BUDAPEST - SZENTENDRE

1. By the suburban railway line H5 from Budapest to Szentendre
Take the suburban railway line H5 (leaves from Batthyány tér). The travel time to Szentendre from Batthyány tér takes 39 mins. It is recommended to use the travel planner of BKK (Centre for Budapest Transport).

2. By bus from Budapest to Szentendre
From Budapest Újpest-Városkapu to Szentendre it takes 30-35 minutes. Timetable is available here.

SZENTENDRE - SKANZEN
1. By local bus from Szentendre HÉV station to the museum
Next to the HÉV station is the local bus station, where you can get a bus to Skanzen. Buy your ticket at the yellow ticket automats or at the ticket desk (250 HUF one-way). The bus leaves mostly from stop 6. Get off at "Szentendre, Skanzen".

2. By taxi from Szentendre HÉV station to the museum
There are also possibilities to take a taxi from the Szentendre HÉV station to the museum (Expected fee is about 8-10 Euros).

From Budapest it takes approx. 40 min - 1 hour (depending on traffic) to the Museum ont he road no.11. Once in Szentendre, you will have to look to the sign ’SKANZEN’ on the left side of the road – and turn to the left.
